The Amazing Trail of Seymour Snail by Lynn E. Hazen

Seymour dreams of becoming a great artist, but he's very shy, and slow, too.  He is a snail after all.  Things begin to look up when he is hired to help out at the Speedy Art Gallery, owned by Mr. Stink Bug.  Will he be able to "ooze" his way into the art world?  This is a sweet beginning chapter book you don't want to miss!

The Fantastic Secret of Owen Jester by Barbara O'Connor

When Owen's father loses his hardware business, and the family has to move in with his grandpa, Owen's life changed.  He had to deal with his grandpa's nurse, Earlene, who didn't seem to want him to have any fun, as well as Viola, the nosey, bossy girl from next door.  At least he had his freshly caught bullfrog, Tooley, and his two friends Travis and Stumpy.   The mystery begins one evening when the train rattles by grandpa's house, and he hears a mysterious "thud" followed by a crack of wood and a tumble, tumble sound.   What could it be?  If you like mysteries, and stories about friendships, you will love this book by Barbara O'Connor.  Check it out!

New arrivals!

Many new books have been arriving to our shelves this fall.  Here are a few that I've read and enjoyed!
The Night Fairy by Laura Amy Schlitz is the amazing story of Flory, a fairy who has lost her wings.  She was just getting used to them when a bat mistakenly thought she was a moth, and damaged her wings.  You have to read this book to experience the adventures Flory must face as she finds safe shelter and food., and even a friend--a squirrel named Skuggle.  But not everything or everyone is friendly, danger lurks around every corner.  This book includes some beautiful illustrations, also!  Don't miss it!
